Samantha Bee has been making buzz with her political take-downs since the January premiere of her TBS series Full Frontal with Samantha Bee. Her latest topic to tackle? The views of young, well-educated Donald Trump supporters.
In the most recent episode on March 14, the TV host sat down with several "college-educated, bipartisan" Trump supporters in an attempt to learn why they support the candidate, and later threw them a party for good measure. In particular, Bee attempted to find out how they justified support for a candidate who has engaged in incendiary rhetoric - even going so far as to say he would punch someone in the face - after violence has broken out during his rallies.
The supporters were not without their reasons for standing with the Republican candidate in spite of this. "I think if you get enough people together," said one supporter, "eventually someone's gonna punch someone else in the face."
Bee first became known for field pieces like these - the most recent of which, as Rolling Stone noted, mourned the passing of the GOP - during her time as a correspondent on The Daily Show. As we previously reported, Bee has voiced her commitment to including such segments in her series.
