Adult film actress and one of the women who accused fellow porn star James Deen of sexual assault was found dead in her home over the weekend. She was 31.
The New York Daily News noted that on Monday, Ed Winter of the medical examiner’s office confirmed that the actress had passed away on Saturday. Although the exact cause of death has not yet been determined, it is believed to be due to an accidental overdose. An autopsy is pending.
We previously reported that Rayne, whose real name was Meghan Wren, is one of several women who accused Deen of sexual battery while filming scenes together. She claimed that he punched her and then got so rough with her that he caused her to bleed.
“I bled everywhere,” she said. “There was so much blood I couldn’t finish the scene.”
Deen denied the allegations.
Rayne was born in Detroit and got into the adult film industry in 2005 and announced her retirement in 2015. She was nominated for multiple AVN Awards throughout her 10-year career.
