Surprising things have happened at the box office this week.

The highly anticipated superhero mash-up movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hit theaters on March 25, bringing in a whopping $270 million in its first week.

According to Variety, the movie stayed on top for 13 days straight and then took a 69 percent fall this Wednesday.

Pro Box Office points out that the superhero movie is also just 3 percent ahead of last year's box office hit Furious 7 that opened on Good Friday, as well.

Coming in second was the Disney animated movie Zootopia, trailing 1.5 million on Thursday, which is 48 percent down from last week.

Zootopia has brought in a total of $280.1 million, bringing it 23 percent ahead of The Lego Movie.

Next in line was God's Not Dead 2, which has earned 0.52 million on its sixth day out, now sitting at 9.3 million this week for its total.

The queen of comedy, Melissa McCarthy's film The Boss did extremely well on Thursday for its first night, bringing in $985,000 at 2,533 North American theaters.

The Boss is expected to bring in about $21 million in its first week. This may mean serious competition for Batman v Superman, which has been estimated to finish at $25 million in its third week.

We'll just have to wait and see who will win this box office war!
