NCIS is getting closer to the season finale and the time when we will say goodbye to Michael Weatherly as Special Agent Tony DiNozzo. Now it has been confirmed that one cast member will not be coming back for a fond farewell.

Cote de Pablo, who played Ziva David on the hit CBS show, revealed in a Q&A session at Babson College to promote The 33 that she would not be returning to the show for the final episode featuring DiNozzo.

The news broke via the Twitter fan page dedicated to the actress. While she did not say in the session why she would not return for the episode, she did reveal the reason why she left in the first place. She felt that the scripts for the show were not “good enough” for her character.

She said, “I worked 8 years crafting this character and loving her and so when I felt or perceived that the character was not being treated with the respect she deserved all the money in the world couldn’t bring me back.”

While DiNozzo’s exit storyline is still being kept under wraps, the show has added some new cast members that may replace the special agent, including Duane Henry as former MI-6 officer Clayton Reeves and Sarah Clarke as Agent Tess Monroe.
