Deadpool 2 is officially happening! We pretty much assumed that, seeing as the original was a box office phenomenon, but now 20th Century Fox has made it official. Director Tim Miller will return to helm the sequel and Ryan Reynolds will, of course, be reprising his role as the eponymous hero, according to Variety.

Channing Tatum is joining the cast of Kingsman: The Golden Circle, the actor announced on Twitter. He'll be joining Taron Egerton, Mark Strong, Halle Berry, Elton John and, supposedly, Colin Firth (yes, even though he died in the original movie).

Disney may have found its new Han Solo. Deadline reports that Alden Ehrenreich is the current frontrunner to play young Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spinoff, which will be released in 2018. Phil Lord and Christopher Miller are set to direct a screenplay by Lawrence and Jon Kasdan. Like Rogue One, it will be a prequel set before the events of the original Star Wars.

South Park creator Trey Parker will be voicing the villain in Despicable Me 3, according to Entertainment Weekly. The sequel will evidently be about a sibling rivalry between Gru and his long-lost brother, Dru, and Parker will be playing a former 1980's child star. This will be Parker's first time playing a character that he did not write.

And speaking of voice acting, Benedict Cumberbatch is set to play The Grinch in an upcoming film adaptation of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, according to Vanity Fair. This one will be directed by Pete Candeland and will be released in time for Christmas 2017.

The first trailer for the upcoming Godzilla movie, Godzilla: Resurgence, has been unveiled. This is not a sequel to the 2014 American remake, but rather a Japanese reboot straight from Toho, the studio that created the character back in 1954. Though some of Toho's Godzilla films have been wacky and over the top, this one looks to be as dark and scary as the original.

AMC Theaters is considering allowing texting during movies. CEO Adam Aron told Variety that the chain may begin offering texting-friendly auditoriums to appeal to millennials. "When you tell a 22-year-old to turn off the phone, don't ruin the movie, they hear please cut off your left arm above the elbow," he said. "You can't tell a 22-year-old to turn off their cellphone. That's not how they live their life."
