The airing of Hairspray Live! is still months away, but the production is quickly finding its cast.

According to People, Derek Hough, Jennifer Hudson, Harvey Firestein and Martin Short are all set to appear in NBC’s new live TV musical Hairspray Live!. The production was announced in January.

Hough, who is set to play TV host Corny Collins, is following in his sister Julianne’s footsteps. The Safe Haven star played Sandy in FOX’s production of Grease Live! earlier this year.

Hough was quick to post his excitement about joining the live TV musical on social media.

“I am so pumped to be a part of #HairsprayLive on @NBC! Can't wait to bring it to life on December 7!!” Hough wrote on Instagram.

Academy Award winner Hudson has been cast as Motormouth Maybelle, the character Queen Latifah played in the movie version of the Broadway show, while Short is going to play Wilbur Turnblad.

Firestein, who played Edna Turnblad in the stage production of Hairspray, is reprising his original role.

Hairspray Live is set to air on NBC in December.
