CBS has dropped the first promo for their new series BrainDead, a political-thriller in which a young Capitol Hill staffer discovers members of Congress are being controlled by parasites.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead (10 Cloverfield Lane) stars as new Capitol Hill staffer Beth Malone and she's joined by Tony Shalhoub (Monk), Danny Pino (Law & Order: SVU), Aaron Tveit (Grease: Live), Nikki M. James (The Good Wife) and Johnny Ray Gill (True Blood).

BrainDead will air 13 episodes this summer. It's created by Robert King and Michelle King, the pair behind CBS' The Good Wife, which airs its series finale on May 8. BrainDead is the first project to be created under the Kings' three-year overall deal with CBS.

"We wanted to do a show that was a mix of genre-pulp and high-brow politics — The Strain crossed with The West Wing," the Kings said in a statement when the show was announced, as we previously reported, "It seemed like the best way to address the news today — not straight, but as the opening act of a horror movie."

Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions will co-produce. Also serving as executive producer is Judy Smith, whose crisis management work was the inspiration for the hit ABC series Scandal.

BrainDead premieres on June 13.
