In the last episode, Mindy had a whirlwind, way-to0-fast relationship that was not meant to last.
There is a hedge fund moving in above the practice and making a huge racket with all of their construction. Jeremy is none too happy that the fund is run by his ex-girlfriend, Whitney.
Mindy is learning that she has no financial sense whatsoever. She does not deposit her paychecks and freaks out over reading a Suze Orman book. She goes to Whitney to help her get her financials in order. Whitney is overcoming her cocaine addictions and needs new friends who are sober. For Whitney to do Mindy’s financials, Mindy agrees to be Whitney’s friend. Whitney bombards Mindy’s life, coming over every single night; Mindy is super sleep-deprived because of her.
Jeremy is dating a women, Juliet, a bit older than him. Cue Jodi judging hardcore. All of a sudden, all of the nurses at the hospital are drooling over Jeremy because of his new girlfriend. Turns out that Jeremy is paying Juliet to be his girlfriend.
Jodi was upset that Mindy canceled plans for them to go grandfather clock shopping for the office. While talking with Juliet, Jodi discovers that he might have feelings for Mindy. He writes a letter to Mindy about his feelings and mails it to her. (Thoughts: No, Mindy, don’t date another co-worker!)
In the end, Mindy learns to do her own financials, even though it’s a daunting and scary task. Whitney learns to control only her life as she’s recovering.
