NCIS this week saw Tony in a pickle as he was the victim of stolen identity- three times. When the episode began, Tony and Vance were meeting with two Senators, Senator Kelly and Senator Bransfield. When they heard Tony’s name, they had weird reactions toward him and Tony was later stunned when Bransfield approached him and angrily gave him an envelope of large bills.

Back at the office, Tony tried to figure out why the Senator gave him $20,000 while Tim and Elllie talked about possible names for an aircraft carrier they could come up with for a contest the SECNAV was having. Tony told them about the cash just as Gibbs ran in, relieved to see Tony. He tells them an NCIS agent was found dead and supposedly it was Tony himself.

At the scene of the accident, the Deputy tries to tell the team it is their investigation, but they make more headway than him when Ellie spotted a second pair of tire tracks, Tim found white paint on the vehicle and Tony found a briefcase full of money.

Tony was in the midst of cancelling his credit cards as Ellie and Tim told Gibbs about Scott Byers, their fake Tony DiNozzo who died. He somehow got a hold of Tony’s badge. Vance came to let the team know Senator Bransfield was on his way to talk to them.

Tim went to see Ducky, who informed him that Byers’ cell phone they had been looking for had shattered in the crash and was embedded in the victim’s thigh. He also had died of injuries due to the crash. Meanwhile, Ellie went to see Abby, who was able to find that a scrape in the car appeared to be from part of a bumper sticker and the type of color the car is suspected of being was Arctic Beach.

Tony talked to the Senator, telling him about the stolen identity before Gibbs comes in. Bransfield is reluctantly ready to let them see his emails, which also include what he was being blackmailed for, until he finds out the blackmailer is dead.

After he left, Abby told Gibbs about hacking into the Senator’s email. There had been photos of him in bed with a blonde woman who was not his wife. Along with Tony, they are stunned to see a new email come up from the blackmailer. There is another Phony Tony.

After Tim shared more names with Ellie for the contest, the team informed Gibbs of their plan to get the rest of the Tonys’ in custody. They figured out a third Tony was blackmailing another senator and since Senator Kelly’s blackmailer is dead, they know they will be able to get the other two. Since they can’t use the Senators in a sting, Tim and Gibbs play the roles.

Ellie kept an eye on Tim while Gibbs sat at a bench and was approached by the fake Tony. They are able to arrest both of the men. Back in the interrogation room, the real Tony discovered the two Tonys’ had been hired by a woman to impersonate him and she found them on Craigslist. They inform him that they drop off the cash at a locker near a bus station. When Abby and Tony looked at surveillance of the woman, Tony realized, much to his displeasure, it was Leah, his date from a month earlier.

While the team tried to find Leah, who used it as an alias, Gibbs was upset since they had no new leads. While Ellie and Tim worked, Tony went to see Abby to take her to his apartment. He wanted to try and figure out how Leah could have gotten his information. Tony remembered he had left the room to go to the kitchen for a few seconds and she had enough time to take a photo of his badge. As he talked to Abby about not finidng the right person, Tony remembered he never threw away the bottle of Chardonnay from the date and Leah had touched it.

Abby was able to use the prints to find Elizabeth Elliott, who had written bad checks in Florida and had embezzled. She also had two outstanding warrants. Tony took a copy of Elizabeth’s driver’s license to give to Tim while he left to go find her himself.

Ellie and Tim told Gibbs based on circumstantial evidence, they believe Senator Kelly killed Byers. He had lied about medical records, which were sealed by the Navy and only accessible by anyone with credentials like Tony. He also drew an Arctic Beach color car.

Tony was driving in his car when he ended up getting pulled over. He showed his badge to the officer, but because his car had been flagged, he is placed under arrest. Tim later arrived to pick up Tony from the police station. Tony admitted to his friend he had been feeling disconnected from his identity lately. Tim reminded Tony of who he was and that they were best friends before they went to meet Ellie, who had located Elizabeth.

Elizabeth had contacted one of the Tony’s to arrange a meet. They all arrived, but when phony Tony got cold feet, Ellie and Tim went to take him away as Elizabeth went back to the car. Tony himself was in the backseat and arrested her.

In the interrogation room, Elizabeth tried to get out of trouble by telling Gibbs that Kelly killed Scott. However, they can’t just go on her word and allow her to walk away. When Ellie began to question how Elizabeth would have known about the Senator’s business, Gibbs realized it was someone on the inside and he knew who they were looking for.

Tony and Gibbs when to Senator Kelly’s office to arrest his assistant, Lisa. She had put together the operation with Elizabeth, who she once worked with and it got bigger as time went on. Tony told all of the information to the Phony Tonys’ and informed them that whle they could put in a good word on their behalf, they still faced jail time.

Ellie, Gibbs and Tim were at their desks when Ellie began getting excited. She told them she was a finalist for the SECNAV contest and Gibbs asked about the name she chose. When Tim walked over to look at the email, he was touched to see she had submitted SS Admiral John McGee after his father.
