Ryan Reynolds paid tribute via social media to a 13-year-old fan after the teen passed away from cancer.
On April 28, the 39-year-old took to his Facebook account with an emotional message about Connor McGrath, who he met through the Make-a-Wish Foundation earlier this year.
“For three straight years, my friend Connor McGrath drop-kicked cancer … Not sure how … Maybe the cancer cheated … But the fight came to an end two nights ago,” Reynolds wrote in the post.
The actor also talked about how smart and funny McGrath was, writing, “This kid … He was smart. He was funny. And not just funny ‘for a kid’ — or funny ‘for a person battling something awful.’ He was unqualified funny. He had that … thing.”
Reynolds also shared that at his last visit he “didn't know if I was saying goodbye or see ya later. Sitting here now, I realize it was both.”
The Deadpool actor used to called McGrath “Bubba” and concluded his post with “See ya down the road, Bubba.”
