A cast list has been revealed and it includes Michael Cera, Eddie Vedder, Jim Belushi, Robert Forster, David Duchovny, Tim Roth, Matthew Lillard, Josh McDermitt and Trent Reznor (yes, that Trent Reznor). Showtime released a full list of 217 cast members, as you can see on Entertainment Weekly, and it seriously looks like a bunch of random celebrities were just picked out of a hat. All of these actors join Kyle McLachlan, Naomi Watts, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Amanda Seyfried. Twin Peaks is expected to air in 2017.

It's not yet clear if Mackie will be featured in the Christmas special, which will be the only piece of Doctor Who content we get in 2016.

When asked to clarify exactly how old the character is supposed to be, Podeswa said that they didn't have a specific number in mind, but they wanted to express that "she could be ancient."
