Don’t mess with Yolanda Hadid.
After Rebecca Romijn made comments to Entertainment Tonight about Gigi Hadid and Kendall Jenner not being “true supermodels,” Gigi’s mom, Yolanda, came to their defense on social media.
“Kind, hard working and they accomplished more at half your age in the fashion industry,” the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star wrote in response to Romijn’s tweet that she did “diss” the model BFFs.
Yolanda pointed out to fans that Romijn’s ET interview did insult both her daughter and Jenner.
“I know a lot of people -- legitimate fashion people -- can’t stand it. Hate it that these, you know, social media stars are now the supermodels in fashion,” Romijn said to Entertainment Tonight after being asked about the new generation of models like Gigi and Jenner. The former fashion model added that she usually looks to Vogue Magazine for fashion trends and is “disappointed” that fashion magazines are putting social media stars on their covers.
After the interview, Romijn took to her Twitter to clarify her comments.
Yolanda also responded to a fan who said her daughter and Jenner were only famous because they come from rich families.
“It's THEIR hard work and daily commitment to their profession that got them where they R today #NoParentsInvolved,” the mother of three wrote.
