The Seattle Mariners had a very special guest on hand at Safeco Field to throw out the game’s first pitch on Memorial Day.
That guest was 92-year-old Navy veteran Burke Waldron, who got things started throwing a perfect strike before the Mariners and San Diego Padres took the field.
A brief video about Waldron’s service in the military was shown right before he ran out to the pitcher’s mound, yes he ran out like any baseball pro would and waved to the crowd.
After throwing the baseball right down the middle of plate to Steve Clevenger, Waldron got an autograph from the catcher and posed for a photo.
