Amber Heard showed up in court on Friday and claimed Johnny Depp repeatedly assaulted her during their marriage and was granted a restraining order. This comes on the heels of the announcement that they are divorcing from Monday morning.
Heard, 30, with a black eye, went with her lawyer to court with photos of bruises that she claims were inflicted by Depp, 52, according to TMZ. Heard claims that a massive bruise on her right eye was caused by Depp when he struck her with his iPhone on Saturday night. Depp also allegedly broke multiple items in their apartment, according to Heard. Heard says she was talking to a friend on the phone during the fight and Heard told her friend to call the police. Cops did arrive at the residence, but Heard told them that Depp had already left. Heard told the police she would not file a statement which would get the police to arrest Depp.
Heard also said that Depp offered her money, after he hit her, to be silent. Heard requested a temporary restraining order, which was granted by a Los Angeles judge, according to Variety. TMZ says Heard has a video of one of the times Depp assaulted her.
Depp has supposedly been out of town since Wednesday promoting a new movie and a lawyer appeared for him, according to TMZ, whose sources from Depp say that Heard's claims are not true.
Heard and Depp met on the set of The Rum Diary and started dating in 2012. They married in February 2015.
Bad news for Depp, as his family-friendly Disney fantasy, Alice: Through the Looking Glass, comes out today. Heard was recently in The Danish Girl and Magic Mike XXL. She can next be seen in London Fields, which also has an appearance by Depp. There's no release date for the movie yet.
