Amid the news regarding their television cancellations and renewals, CBS has ordered four new series’ for the 2016-17 season.
As previously reported, CBS has cut down on some of their television shows while keeping some of their long-running programs such as the NCIS franchise and Criminal Minds.
The Wrap reported two of the four programs ordered for the Fall season include two reboots of MacGyver from Peter Lenkov and Henry Winkler and Training Day from Jerry Bruckheimer.
Lucas Till will star in MacGyver.
For Training Day, it will follow a young police officer 15 years after the events of the film. MacGyver follows the problem solver in his 20’s, who works to prevent possible disasters around him.
One of the programs ordered is from executive producer Jason Katims titled Pure Genius. Matt LeBlanc also has a new comedy coming to CBS called Man With a Plan, about a contractor who begins to spend more time with his children once his wife returns to work while Joel McHale will star in The Great Indoors.
McHale will star as an adventure reporter who oversees a group of millenials in one department for a magazine.
Dermot Mulroney and Brenda Song are just some of the stars of Pure Genius about a tech titan who seeks the help of a controversial veteran surgeon to begin a hispital.
Another program ordered was Bull, led by Michael Weatherly after his departure from NCIS.
