A new super hero movie is in the works as of May 26, and according to Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, this one predates Marvel and DC.
Despite his busy schedule, including the previously announced Black Adam project, Johnson confirmed this morning that he intends to bring another comic book adaptation to the big screen: the Man of Bronze, aka Doc Savage.
According to Cageside Seats, Doc Savage's origins predates the rise of comics, with someone, "always working on re-introducing the genius adventurer to the four-color world." Johnson's involvement in the film not only gives comic book fans something to look forward to, but keeps him in the world of superheros while DC gathers its bearings.
He said his favorite thing about Savage was what a "hilarious weirdo" he was and how he was looking forward to bringing that part of him to life on the big screen.
Will Johnson do our quirky hero justice? We will just have to wait and see.
