Jeff Goldblum and Karl Urban join Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo and Cate Blanchett in Thor: Ragnarok.

Goldblum will play the Grandmaster. Immortal and incredibly intelligent, the Grandmaster spends his days devising games of skill and chance for his opponents to play for high stakes. Urban plays Skurge, a seven-foot mass of an Asgardian weighing over 1,000 pounds. He is usually associated with the Enchantress, a character that Cate Blanchett was rumored for.

Today, those rumors have been put to rest as Marvel revealed that Blanchett will play a new villain named Hela, only described as, "mysterious and powerful." Tessa Thompson's character has also been announced. She will play Valkyrie, who has incredible strength and durability.

“The continuation of the epic Thor franchise will be powerful and unique, and with the additions of Cate, Jeff, Tessa, Karl, and Mark to the cast we have the makings of his most dangerous and heroic adventure yet,” said producer and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, “The sheer, raw talent each of these actors brings to the screen can’t be quantified. Having any one of them join the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be an honor, and having all of them is incredible."

Oscar-nominee Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows, Flight of the Conchords) directs from a script written by Craig Kyle (Hulk Vs.), Christopher Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Hulk Vs.), and Stephany Folsom. Chris Hemsworth returns as Thor as well as Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, and Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok is set for November 3, 2017.
