Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson has revealed a bit more information about the upcoming Jumanji remake.

In an Instagram post, Johnson said that the new film will honor the memory of Robin Williams and pay tribute to what he brought to the original.

"You have my word, we will honor his name and the character of 'Alan Parrish' will stand alone and be forever immortalized in the world of JUMANJI in an earnest and cool way," he wrote. "I have an idea of what to do and I think his family will be proud."

Johnon himself is a producer on Jumanji and is working on a rewrite of the script. The actor went on to share a story of the first time he met Williams and was completely star struck by the late comedian.

The Instagram post also gave us a few additional details about the new movie. Johnson said that while the original Jumani had three big roles, in the new story there are five main characters. It sounds like it will be a bit more of an ensemble piece than the first film, then, and Johnson promises there will be some cool casting announcements on the way later this week.

Jumanji will be directed by Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape). Kevin Hart is reportedly in talks to star alongside Johnson, as we previously reported, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. Jumanji opens on July 28, 2017.
