Last week on Monica the Medium, Monica and Krista moved to the West Coast. This week they look for roommates for their house. Will new people be able to accept Monica’s gift?

Monica is in awe of her new surroundings but feels somewhat spiritually lost. She wants to find other mediums and build up a clientele who will accept her for who she is.

Monica and Krista go to campus and put up fliers for new roommates. They want a drama-free household, but they definitely want girls.

Monica feels the pull of spirit. She’s in a crowded cafeteria and needs to figure out who the spirit wants to speak to. She narrows it down and greets a girl at her table. She explains what she does and gets permission to pass the message along. The girl is open to it.

The spirit is the girl’s father. Monica gets his name exactly right and even knows what city they lived in. She knows the girl is an only child. Monica knows he died of an accidental overdose and reassures the girl that her father didn’t mean to die. We tear up when she does.

The spirit brings up Steven, the girl’s husband. Monica says the girl’s father died four months before the wedding in November. She’s exactly right. Monica says he still walked her down the aisle. The girl cries and Monica gives her a hug. Her gift is truly extraordinary.

Monica and Krista spruce up the house for their first roommate interview. The girl, Kayla, arrives and she seems really nice. Monica explains her occupation and Kayla seems taken aback at first. Monica asks how she feels about it and the girl says she grew up in an open-minded household. She thinks it’s unique and interesting.

Kayla tells the girls they need to try surfing. They show her around the house and invite her to move in. She says she needs to think about it, then immediately says yes. Krista and Monica are excited.

Monica finds out that James Van Praagh lives in San Diego. He agrees to have coffee with her. She tells him about her gift growing up and asks him how he’s gotten to such an amazing status. He offers to help her by hosting a medium meet-up at a spiritual center.

Kayla, Krista and Monica go to a surfing lesson. Monica is less than thrilled when the teacher mentions avoiding stingrays. She’s afraid the cut on her foot will attract sharks. She’s terrified to get in the water but starts to have fun as the day moves along.

Monica feels a mother spirit coming through for some other girls in her class. She tells them their mother’s name and gets her birthday and her death date right. She knows cancer killed her quickly. The viewers tear up with the girls when we see how spot on the connection is. Their mother wants them to resume living, knowing she’s still there.

Krista and Monica posted a request for female roommates on social media, but they receive a lot of answers from guys.

Another roommate applicant comes to the house. Her name is Kirsten and she looks like the typical California surfer girl. Monica tells her about her gift and she seems uncomfortable. She says she’s not opposed to living with someone who speaks with the dead, but Monica’s not so sure. They invite Kirsten to hang out with them the next night to get to know her better.

The next morning, Monica decides that Kirsten would make a good roommate, so Krista calls her. Kirsten says she needs to figure some things out first, but she’ll come out with them that night.

Monica goes to the medium meet-up. She’s excited to be in a room with others like herself. She knows she can learn a lot from all of them. Everyone feels very welcoming. James suggests they all connect together. He and Monica give a reading for one of the men in the group.

James then feels Monica’s grandmother come through. He and another woman in the group give her a reading. It feels surreal with the reader getting the message. James closes the circle and Monica leaves happy.

Monica is afraid that Kirsten will bail on them. She asks Kayla how she really feels about mediumship. Kayla says she’s drawn to people who are different. She makes jokes about witches and superheroes. She’s funny, a good match for Krista and Monica.

Kirsten shows up and gets introduced to Kayla. She says she was late because of work, but she wants to move in. She’s okay living with Monica as long as Monica doesn’t give her a reading. The girls all look forward to future adventures.
