Last week on Monica the Medium, Kirsten finally felt comfortable enough to let Monica give her a reading. This week she sets Monica up on a date without telling the guy about Monica’s gift. Will he be cool with it?
Monica feels like she’s having a hard time balancing school and life. She wants to get an assistant. Kirsten suggests Krista. Krista is nervous about working with a friend though. Monica brings up the fact that people say not to live with your best friend either and that’s going great. Will this work out?
It turns out Kirsten was joking about Krista being Monica’s assistant. She thinks it’s a bad idea.
The roommates discuss their dating lives and Monica admits she’s given readings on dates. Krista worries that dating is harder for Monica. Kirsten offers to set her up on a date. Monica’s last blind date bailed on her because he found out she was a medium. She asks Kirsten not to tell the guy that she talks to the dead. What will happen when he finds out?
Monica holds her first reading at the house. She has a hard time focusing, but manages. She feels the girl’s mother come through. She knows her personality and cause of death. She even knows the mother left her daughter letters to open as life continues. She’s always so spot on.
Monica knows the girl’s father is remarried and what nationality her stepmother is. Her mother tells her to give the stepmother a break and not be angry at her dad for remarrying. The girl is 100 precent convinced that Monica is the real deal. Do you agree?
Monica worries that Krista will be overwhelmed with her new position. She tells Krista that the house isn’t working for readings, because she gets so distracted. Krista impresses Monica by suggesting she look for an office space.
Kirsten tells Kayla that she found a guy, named Tyler, for Monica. She didn’t tell Tyler that Monica is a medium. Kayla feels it’s unfair for the guy to go in blind, but understands that someone could judge Monica for what she does for a living. She ends up deciding that Monica shouldn’t tell him on the first date. What will Monica decide to do?
Monica looks at a cute space in an office center. She loves the color and the size, but she’d like something more private. The realtor is surprised to find out Monica is a medium but says they don’t discriminate. The rent is really high, but there’s room for negotiation.
Krista would like to go into realty someday and starts picking the realtor’s brain. Monica feels spirit coming through. It’s the grandmother of the center’s owner. Monica asks if she’s open for a reading and she says absolutely – she’s had readings before.
Monica connects with the woman’s Godmother. She knows her Godmother was spunky and knows what she looked like. The owner feels guilty about not having been able to visit her Godmother in the hospital, but she’s told that nothing was left unsaid. Monica knows exactly how she died. Amazing!
Monica is afraid her date won’t show up. She picks Kirsten’s brain about Tyler and Kayla gives her dating tips. She says Monica should wait at least an hour to tell him she’s a medium.
Krista is already feeling overworked. She tries to confirm a 9 a.m. appointment for the next morning, but finds out Monica already has an 8:30 a.m. client. Krista was going by the calendar which was blank. Monica and Krista argue about how rescheduling affects her reputation.
Monica meets Tyler and thinks he’s cute. He’s lived in California for five years. They’re discussing his English bulldog when a spirit comes through. Monica asks if the woman who named the dog was named Jessica. He’s floored. She’s exactly right. Monica tells him she’s a medium. She’s happy that he’s open to a reading. Is he just being polite?
She knows a lot of details about his family. She focuses on a white dog that recently passed. Tyler is glad he didn’t break down in tears on their first date. They start showing each other pictures of their dogs. Monica hopes to see him again. Will it work out?
The next day, Monica feels bad about fighting with Krista. Krista tries to make peace by sectioning off a room in the house for Monica to work in. Monica apologizes for yelling at her. She was nervous about the date. Krista takes her aside and tells her that it would be better not to work together. Their friendship is more important than making money. Monica agrees then fills her and Kirsten in on her date.
