NASCAR driver Kevin Harvick denied the rumors that he’s moving from Stewart-Hass Racing to Hendrick Motorsports in 2017 via Twitter on Tuesday.
According to Frontstretch.com, Harvick has been given an offer by Hendrick Motorsports to move there next year and is mulling the offer over. Harvick would replace Kasey Kahne in the number 5 car at Hendrick Motorsports. In February Stewart-Hass Racing announced that it would switch from Chevrolet to Ford next year, and that began the rumors that Harvick would leave the team. Harvick denied the rumors in February saying, "I don't see any reason why that would change. For me, this is the best position I've been in with my team," Fox Sports notes.
Harvick was asked about the rumors on Twitter. He responded by saying that a bunch of people are making stuff up.
Harvick joined Stewart-Hass Racing in 2014 after spending 13 years at Richard Childress Racing. He won the championship in 2014, his first-year at Stewart-Hass. He is in the final year of his contract, but has an option for 2017.
This season he has one win, five top fives , nine top tens and has led 668 laps and is first in points, according to ESPN.
NASCAR is in Charlotte for the next two weeks for the All-Star race Saturday night and the Coca-Cola 600 Memorial Day weekend.
