Paul Rudd, Craig Roberts, and Selena Gomez appear in the first trailer for The Fundamentals of Caring, a dramedy that will premiere on Netflix next month.

Ben (Rudd) becomes a caregiver to cheer himself up through a divorce. His first client is Trevor (Roberts), an 18-year-old with a consistently sour mood who's confined to a wheelchair and spends his days watching TV news and eating waffles. In an effort to get them both out of their respective ruts, Ben takes Trevor on a road trip to see the places Trevor wants to see from the news. The end goal is the incredibly exciting sounding World's Deepest Pit. The trailer can be viewed below.

Based on Jonathan Evison's 2012 novel of the same name, The Fundamentals of Caring is written and directed by Rob Burnett. This will be Burnett's second feature after 2012's We Made This Movie. As an executive producer on Late Show with David Letterman, Burnett has won five Emmy awards. He created the NBC comedy show Powerless about an insurance company cleaning up after DC superheroes starring Vanessa Hudgens, Danny Pudi, and Alan Tudyk which premieres in 2017.

Rudd was last seen in Captain America: Civil War and will next be heard in Seth Rogen's R-rated animation Sausage Party. Roberts appeared in 22 Jump Street and Neighbors while Gomez was recently seen in the Oscar-winning comedy The Big Short.

The Fundamentals of Caring premieres June 24 on Netflix.
