Anthony Kiedis, frontman for Red Hot Chili Peppers was reportedly rushed to the hospital after suffering from “extreme stomach pain,” causing the band to cancel an appearance.

In a statement to Billboard, a representative for KROQ Weenie Roast, said Kiedis was taken by ambulance after he experienced pain from his stomach, although it is not yet known what caused his ailment.

The show was scheduled for May 14 and Flea made the statement at the Irvine Meadows Ampitheatre, telling their fans they were “devastated” at not being able to perform.

The performances set for the night included Empire of the Sun, Panic! At the Disco and a surprise appearance from Blink-182.

KROQ made a post on Twitter around 10:30 pm, half an hour after the Red Hot Chili peppers were supposed to play, to say the band was “forced to cancel their set tonight.”

Drummer Chad Smith wrote on Twitter, “NO one’s more disappointed than us that we couldn’t perform tonight. Sending love and a speedy recovery to my brother Anthony.”
