It’s a battle at the box office this weekend.  A young family faces off against a sorority in the sequel to a 2014 hit comedy and it’s birds vs. pigs in a new animated film based off a popular video game.

A slew of pigs invade an island of flightless birds in The Angry Birds Movie.  Three birds that have always felt like outcasts have a chance to become heroes and save their kind.  The PG animated adventure features the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Kate McKinnon, Tony Hale, Keegan-Michael Key, Ike Barinholtz, Tituss Burgess, Bill Hader and Peter Dinklage.  It plays for one hour and thirty-seven minutes.

Mac and Kelly Radner are having problems with their neighbors, again, in Neighbors 2:  Sorority Rising. As they get ready for baby number two, they plan to sell their house and move to the suburbs, but when a group of rebel sorority girls move in, their chances of selling become slim.  To fight back, they call on an old friend who knows a thing or two about Greek Life.  The one hour and thirty-one minute comedy stars Seth Rogen, Zac Efron, Rose Byrne, Chloe Grace Moretz, Dave Franco, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Selena Gomez and Lisa Kudrow.  It’s rated R for sex, nudity, language and drugs.

A hapless private eye and an assassin join forces to solve the mystery of a missing girl in 1970s Los Angeles in The Nice Guys.  As they investigate, the two find a connection between her disappearance and the murder of a porn star.  Russell Crowe, Ryan Gosling, Matt Bomer and Kim Basinger star in the action comedy.  The one hour and fifty-six minute film is rated R for violence, sex, nudity, language and drugs.

A high school senior searches for a way to support his erratic mother in Hard Sell.  With the help of a female runaway, the two find a way to make money fast by taking advantage of his rich, private school classmates. Kristin Chenoweth stars in the unrated comedic drama.  It’s playing in limited theaters for two hours.

Neighbors 2 brought some favorite characters back to the big screen and the sequels keep coming next week with the releases of Alice Through the Looking Glass and X-Men: Apocalypse.
