NBCUniversal combined all of its channels including NBC, E!, Bravo, USA and Oxygen--for one giant upfront presentation to the press and ad executives for this first time this year.
NBCUniversal presented its programming with themes--rule breakers, comedy, buzzworthy reality TV, live events, bada**es, champions and fierce women--to link everything across networks.
Over at NBC, previously announced comedies like The Good Place with Ted Danson and Kristen Bell, Great News and Trial & Error seemed to get great responses from the crowd, as well as what looks to be a network favorite This Is Us.
In an effort to seem like one giant team as opposed to almost 20 different networks, NBCUniversal brought out big stars across channels like Miley Cyrus and Alicia Keys (who are headed to The Voice this fall as judges) and the star of the upcoming NBCUniversal show Powerless' Vanessa Hudgens. Mariah Carey was also on hand, joined by Andy Cohen, to present a first look at her E! docu-series Mariah's World , which premieres later this year.
The presentation wrapped with a group celebrity selfie a la Ellen DeGeneres at the Oscars, with Kate McKinnon as Ellen.
