Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green could be suspended for kicking Oklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams in the groin.
The incident happened in the second quarter of Game 3 of the Western Conference Finals Sunday night. Green was going up for a shot and got tangled with Adams and kicked him in the groin. Adams went down to the ground after the kick and was temporarily taken out of the game. Adams was called for a shooting foul and Green was given a flagrant 1 foul for "unnecessary contact committed by a player against an opponent,” according to Fox Sports.
Thunder guard Russell Westbrook thought that the kick was intentional, but Green said that it was an accident.
"You know Russell [Westbrook] said I did it on purpose, but he's a part of the superstar group that started all this acting in the NBA," Green said. "I didn't. So, I sold the call. He called me that way. I sold the call."
Green also hit Adams in the groin with his knee in Game 2.
While he is waiting to see if he will be suspended for the kick, Cleveland Cavailier’s Dahntay Jones was suspended for one game Sunday for a shot to the groin in Game 3 of the Cavs-Toronto Raptors series.
The Thunder lead the series 2-1 and Game 4 will be played on Tuesday night.
