John seems to still be a little shocked over his intense conversation he had with Diana the other day. Diana acts like the Rayburn's normally tend to, mentions nothing about it before leaving the house. He gets the silent treatment from her and then gets it from Meg about his fight with Ozzy. They argue about how to handle Ozzy and John basically decides that they aren’t going to give him anything. Meg knows something is up with him.
Nolan and Sally are on a road trip together as they visit Viva Caputa, Danny’s old restaurant in Miami. Nolan tells her about the fire that burnt it down and how Danny was proud. Nolan doesn’t reveal that Danny was selling drugs to keep the place going and was in with the wrong people. Sally continues to be in the dark about Danny! Nolan wants to visit one more place.
Ozzy and Eric have another one of their sketchy meetings. Ozzy is happy because he feels that he is going to cash in very soon. Eric keeps warning him to back off but Ozzy is more focused on getting the cash and even getting Eve into the studio to record a new album. Ozzy, the big dreamer that he is.
Kevin is still dealing with his own issues. He agrees with Meg that they have to keep Ozzy quiet or the campaign is over. Kevin is also nervous because he is literally days away from losing his boatyard. This becomes a reality when appraisers from the bank arrive to examine his belongings. Poor Kevin. I’m really hoping he doesn’t lose his boatyard. I feel that could push him over the edge.
John goes back to the sport where everything changed. He sits on the same branch they sat on right before they fought. He was holding the necklace. He then starts having flashbacks about the whole fight and even imagining Danny’s body in the ocean. This seems to really mess with him. John gets a call from Ms. Ortiz, who he agrees to meet with.
The Sally/Nolan road trip continues to the house which appears to be the childhood home of Nolan, Eve and Danny. Nolan is collecting some stuff while Sally notices he kept the very first ever Rayburn House Inn sign. I find it very interesting he kept it. Sally looks through some old pictures and notices Robert in one. Nolan says he met Robert just once. Nolan then tells her about the massive blowout between Danny and Eve on Father’s Day.
Meg meets with Gilbert where he gladly gives her more donor funds. Gilbert is slowly gaining control of John’s campaign and I’m not sure if this is going to be good in the long run. Gilbert suggests they should set up a public debate. I like this idea. I would love to see John and Aguirre go at it in a public setting.
Kevin cleans up very nice and goes to meet with the investor Garnet (the old man he met with previously on the boat). He has a business plan and waits for a chance to speak with Garnet. Kevin is much more organized and Garnet seems impressed. Kevin wants a partner, but Garnet suggest instead that he wants to buy the boatyard outright. Kevin looks shocked and is not on board with this. “I just can’t do it,” Kevin says.
Marco is doing his research online and calls Alec Moros (the man Meg was having an affair with). I’m not surprised. Marco eventually gets a call back from Alec. He wants Alec to confirm some dates and ask him some questions. Marco absolutely refuses to let the Danny case go. Speaking of Marco, Ms. Ortiz meets with John at the church. She tells John how she knows Meg and how Meg reached out to her. She wants them to tell the rest of the story. (The Aguirre cover up and hiring Marco).
We see Nolan having a flashback to visiting Danny in prison. Danny is very harsh towards him and calls him an embarrassment to the Rayburn's and tells him to never come back to see him. Nolan has had a rough childhood. It’s not surprising to see he acts the way he does.
Belle visits Kevin at the boatyard and ponders his choice to turn down Garnet. He tells her about the pressures of being a Rayburn and trying to make his father and family proud. The boatyard was his way to do it. Belle suggests maybe it is time for a change?
Meg is hashing out the debate details with Aguirre’s campaign manager. Aguirre briefly chats with Meg. I sense he is trying to feel her out. Meg leaves the office and of course Ozzy is outside waiting for her. He threatens to tell Aguirre everything and Meg assures him she needs one more day to get the money. Ozzy promises that this conversation is over in 24 hours…one way or another.
We get more Gilbert during this episode. He meets with Meg again and says he would love to meet with Kevin and chat. He also hears about Ozzy from Meg and suggest that she pay him and if he doesn’t leave, he can be dealt with. Gilbert then meets with Kevin and Kevin comes clean about his mistakes and it seems that Gilbert wants to help Kevin’s boatyard become successful.
Marco tells Aguirre that the Alec timeline is wrong and that Meg is lying. Marco is absolutely convinced that something happened that night he was at her house. The boys are close again and Marco tells Aguirre he wants to do something “delicate.”
Eve is confused why Nolan took Sally to their old house. Nolan tells Sally that she wants to talk to her. Nolan wants answers about Danny and why he never asked for help. I’m with him. We need some truth. Eve and nolan visit the Rayburn House and Sally apologizes for everything. She wants to start over and suggests that they come stay with her. This is an interesting development.
John is in his office when Jane bursts in demanding the necklace that Danny gave her. He dismisses her right as Marco comes in and wants to sit down with John again. Let’s do this. The tension in the interrogation room is at an all-time high. Marco is trying to nail down the timeline. He throws the whole story at John trying to get a resolution. He ultimately thinks the Rayburns helped cover up the murder at the Red Reef Inn. WOW.
Ozzy meets up with Meg and she gives him the money and tells him to get lost. I doubt this is the last we see of him. We also notice someone watching them from their car. We also see Nolan having another flashback and we find out he is the one that burnt down the restaurant. Wow Nolan.
John and Marco are still going at it. Marco keeps trying to get John to give him something but John keeps deflecting and throwing info back at Marco. He brings up the Aguirre situation. There you go John. Marco then references them all lying to the police when they were kids. This was one of the most intense scenes so far. They finally end their conversation where John tells Marco to either make his case or stay away from him and his family. He walks out of the interrogation room.
Whew. We have two episodes left and who knows how this is going to end.
