Last week on Monica the Medium, Monica turned a work trip into a mini-vacation with her friends. This week she takes a real professional step forward and hosts her first big solo event. Will it go as planned?
Monica, Kirsten and Krista discuss Kayla’s graduation. They want to give her an activity as a gift and decide on paintballing.
Monica and Luna meet Tyler and his dog for a walk. Monica is starting to see a more serious future with this guy. She tells him about setting up a solo event. They also discuss seeing more of each other over the summer. He flatters her and they have a swoon-worthy kiss.
Monica feels spirit coming through. She leaves Luna with Tyler and approaches two women, Jacqueline and Rose. Jacqueline’s mentor comes through, an older man she met at college. Monica gets his name and status correct. Monica also feels Jacqueline’s mom and knows where she was buried and that she died when Jacqueline was 7 years old. Monica knows her mother died in the car accident caused by a drunk driver. She always gets the tiny details correct. Amazing. She even sees that Jacqueline and her mother were both big Bruce Springsteen fans.
Monica is impressed with how supportive Tyler is of her profession. She gives him a thank you kiss and heads back to the house.
Monica reports back to her roommates on how well the date went. Krista is pleased to see her so happy. They talk about blindfolding Kayla to bring her to the paintball course.
Monica brings her roommates to look at the concert hall where she wants to have her event. There are over 400 seats. Monica is worried about being able to fill them all. She wants to keep ticket prices at a college student budget. The manager of the hall tells her they can work with that.
Monica would like Tyler to come to her event, but tells her roommates that he’s not sure yet about his schedule. Kayla asks where they’re going and Kirsten blindfolds her from behind. They scream, “Happy graduation!” They pull up at the paintball venue and tell her to take off the blindfold. Kayla is incredibly excited. She loves competition.
The girls team up as new roommates, Kayla and Kirsten, versus old roommates, Monica and Krista. Kayla may be competitive, but Krista hates losing. It should be an aggressive match. Krista heads straight for the flag while Monica holds off the opposing team with her paintball gun. They win almost immediately. They play again and Kirsten gets the flag across goal. On the tie-breaker, Kirsten and Kayla focus too heavily on Krista and Monica sneaks across the goal with the flag, winning the game.
After the match, Monica feels spirit around some other patrons. She gets a mother energy for one woman. Monica knows her half-brother’s name and how close they are. The woman’s mother died alone at home in a fire. She’s thankful the kids weren’t there and lets her daughter know she didn’t suffer. She also gives her a boost of courage for going back to school. Monica’s readings are always so healing to the recipients.
Monica’s roommates pass out flyers for her solo event to help her fill the hall. Krista is happy that the newer roommates support Monica so fully.
Monica is upset that she’s only sold 222 tickets the night before the event. She’s also stung that she hasn’t heard back from Tyler. She’s incredibly stressed and starts crying. She’s afraid the people who come will think the event is a joke because she’s only filled half of the hall. Krista assures her that the people who bought tickets really want to be there.
The next night of the event, Monica is nervous. She’s emotional and still hasn’t heard from Tyler. She wants the event to go well.
The roommates sign people in and Tyler arrives. He really does care a lot for Monica. He sits and the roommates introduce Monica on stage. She outlines how things will go and then dives into spirit.
The first to step forward is a mother with breast cancer. She acknowledges a pair of earrings that went missing when her daughter borrowed them in middle school. Next another woman’s father comes through. Monica gets his name and cause of death right away. She knows about a collage of pictures the daughter has that no one knew about except her mother.
Monica gets a mother that died a month ago and has the date correct. She also gets a piece of the mother’s name and the sister’s name exactly. Monica knows the husband prays to her on his knees. The spirit wants them to remember her for her love of family. The spirit’s family feels a real sense of relief.
Monica’s event goes incredibly well. Tyler and Monica’s friends wait for her afterwards. Monica thanks Krista for moving with her and making it all possible. There’s palpable love between the two of them. Monica is also thankful for the friendship of her newer roommates and Tyler.
