Anton Yelchin was an actor best known for his portrayal of Pavel Chekov in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek reboot.

Yelchin died, as we previously reported, at the young age of 27. He recently finished filming for the third installment of the new Star Trek movies, Star Trek Beyond. It is now in post-production, and had a release date of July 22. However, with Yelchin’s untimely death, it is unknown whether the release date will be delayed.

As an accomplished actor, his career included much more than just Star Trek. He got his start in 2000 with a guest spot on the TV series ER. Throughout the years, he continued to play guest roles, but also starred in made for TV movies, the TV series Huff, several movies, and voiced both animation and video game characters.

As celebrities and fans have expressed their mourning over his passing and desire to commemorate his work, we at TheCelebrityCafe.com would also like to honor Yelchin. The following is a list of some of his best moments acting in the role for which he is best known, Star Trek’s Chekov.

In this first clip from the 2013 Star Trek Into Darkness, Captain Kirk wants to hightail it out of range of a potentially volatile situation. When he inquires about going into warp speed, Chekov doesn’t advise it.

Also from Star Trek Into Darkness, Chekov can be seen giving the captain advice about rescuing Spock, only to be interrupted by Scotty.

In an intense action sequence from Star Trek Into Darkness, Chekov races through the undulating ship to stabilize it and keep it from crashing into the Earth.

Probably one of the best scenes though was from the 2009 reboot Star Trek. Chekov saves the day when he is able to successfully transport Captain Kirk and Lieutenant Sulu as they are falling. Of course, he beams them up only seconds before they would hit the ground!

The trailer for Star Trek Beyond is included, as well as a presentation of behind the scenes stills.

Finally, here’s a clip of an interview with Yelchin about Star Trek Into Darkness. It seems fitting to hear him describe the themes of the franchise for which he will be remembered.

Thank you for taking the time to celebrate Yelchin’s successful portrayal of Chekov with us. Please share your thoughts, opinions, and other clips in the comment section below.
