John is trying to do right by his nephew Nolan by dropping him off at a potential job interview. John also knows about Nolan’s lies and tells him that he will be keeping his eyes on him.

We get another glimpse into Danny’s troubled past. We flashback to Danny meeting with one of his old associates and Danny is preparing to rob a drugstore. He is robbing a drugstore for the oxycontin pills and his associate joins him, unexpectedly. Danny is able to get his pills and his associate (whose name is currently unknown), beats up a manager. I’m sure we will learn more about him.

Nolan has also been busy this episode by having several interactions. He meets up with Eric O’Bannon at his hideout and Eric wants him to be his ears for him. I’m not surprised these two have a close relationship. Nolan delivers money to Chelsea O’Bannon (first time we have seen her this season). Nolan later meets Danny’s associate. Seriously, what is the deal with this mystery man? Nolan is then picked up by a mystery girl, who I'm guessing could be his girlfriend? Nolan is trying to catch up to Danny for the amount of secrets.

Kevin’s spiral out of control continues. “Frosty” is going through another drug deal when he is attacked in his truck and confronted by two men thinking he is a cop. This is something that just adds more stress to John’s already stressful life. He gets a call from a concerned Belle who hasn’t seen Kevin. John enlists Meg’s help to find Kevin. Marco calls John and reports they found a body near the highway. John obviously fears the worst.

A moment of John’s life brings some good news when the body they find isn’t Kevin’s. It is Pete, someone in the lower levels of Lowery’s crew. Meg finally finds Kevin hiding out inside a hotel. He is obviously upset and scared. John meets them at the hotel and Kevin confesses to everything. He is struggling financially and dealing with the guilt. John tells Kevin to stay here and orders Meg to make sure he stays there.

Sally’s personal investigation with her BFF Potts continues. Potts warns her that the answers she finds out about everything might not be what she wants to hear. Potts buys Nolan lunch and tries to find out more information about Danny’s time in Miami. Nolan already knows that Kevin and John went there. (I’m curious to what else Nolan knows about.)

Eric and Danny’s associate meet at the O’Bannon safe house and Eric wonders why he is still here. He claims that he has his own “thing” with the Rayburns. This can’t be a good thing. Meanwhile, John visits Chelsea and tries to figure out if she has heard from Eric or knows where he is. Chelsea denies knowing anything. John assures her if Eric comes to him, he will do his best to protect him.

John has plenty of problems but Wayne Lowery isn’t far behind him. He is having issues with his business partner now that one of his crew is dead and the drugs that apparently had been taken by the DEA are now on the street. He is also nervous that his house is being watched. He notices his front door is cracked but his family is safe inside. This will lead Lowery to make an interesting decision.

Eric O’Bannon nearly falls over when he finds John sitting inside his kitchen. John takes Eric for a ride and wants to know everything Eric has done and warns him that Lowery wants him dead. Eric only tells John that Danny gave him Nolan’s number. When Eric refuses to cooperate, John naturally brings him into the station. Chelsea comes to visit Eric and after a tough conversation between siblings, she tells John “he will do what you want.” I’m not sure if I 100 percent believe that.

Sally and Diana have the interesting and heated conversation. She wants to know what Diana knows about the time period she was out of town. Sally tells Diana she feels John isn’t telling her the whole story and this leads Diana to telling Sally how Danny was dangerous and unpredictable. I can imagine no parent wants to hear this about their child, which prompts Sally to quickly walk away.

John and Lowery have yet another sketchy meeting. John tells Lowery he has Eric in custody. John threatens Lowery and offers a deal: he must serve some prison time and in exchange, Lowery gives him Danny’s tapes. This sets up the conversation the next day between DEA Clay, Marco and John. Clay tells them Lowery wants to propose a deal. Clay thinks they should take it, Marco is obviously against it. John only thinks it is a good idea if they can take down the entire drug network. It has to be tough for John to be living this double life.

John might have made peace with his mother as he has a somewhat honest talk with her. He gives her the “hypothetical” answer that he and Kevin went to the apartment to take the drugs to protect Danny. Sally sees this as John protecting Danny to the very end. This conversation ends with John telling Sally, “I love you mom.”

Kevin and Meg have been hanging out inside the hotel. He calls Belle and tells her he is safe. We all know Kevin has been struggling since Danny. Meg tries to help him by telling her she has been just as guilty and moving to New York for her job was her way of dealing. Kevin finally reaches a point where he suggests going to Lowery to solve their problem. Bad idea. Meg also might be in The Keys full-time soon since she was supposed to return to work. I feel Susannah is not going to keep her on. The phone call allows Meg to be distracted just long enough for Kevin to leave the hotel with the drugs and we can assume try and find Lowery.

The roller coaster ride for the Rayburn family continues on!
