Eve looks like she is here to stay. We begin the episode with a flashback of her and Danny at the Miami restaurant, where Danny wants to build a relationship with Nolan. Eve seems skeptical of this. In the present, Eve is with Danny’s old partner (his name is Ozzy) at a hotel and he is upset that the payments have stopped. He doesn't like the Rayburns at all and it makes me wonder how he will be a thorn in their sides.

John visits Danny’s grave with Diana before meeting with his campaign managers. John trails in the early polls and they suggest to him he should try and get the support of Roy Gilbert. Meg is keeping busy by working on a deal for Kevin and getting his charges dropped. He has to attend substance abuse program and one year probation including a suspended license. It could be worse for Kevin. He is lucky to have an attorney like Meg.

Sally appears to be the only Rayburn actually working at the inn and she gets several complaints about one of her rooms and yells at maintenance even though she never called them. Is Sally losing it? Kevin experiences his first day of rehab. He meets a guy named Doug who warns him about eating too many doughnuts. I wonder how long this will last.

The DEA is having a press conference explaining that they recovered millions of dollars of narcotics and they stopped the local trafficking ring. Sheriff Aguirre takes the credit and mentions they have solved many homicides that Lowery was connected to. Aguirre promises they will find out who killed Danny Rayburn. (Ironically he says this while he is looking right at John.)

The Rayburn children have their usual stressful meeting. Kevin wonders why the case is still open. He thought they would be past this. Meg suggests to John that he should dropout since the only reason the case is open is because he is running for sheriff. I don’t think John knows what to do. John’s life becomes EVEN MORE complicated when he goes into evidence and finds everything they confiscated from Lowery. He finds the tape player, but the tape Danny made is not there. Who has the tape?

Sally is not only having issues at work but also with the women in her life. She had it out with Diana already and now gets into it with Belle about Kevin’s problems. Sally is in danger of isolating herself. Kevin meets Nolan for the first time and Nolan asks for a job. Kevin agrees to hire him.

John delivers Meg with the heavy news. He is not dropping out of the race because they aren’t safe because the tape Danny made is still out there. Meg is mortified and knows what this means for her and the family. She slaps John and tells him he should have told her. John asks her to run his campaign since he completely trusts her. Their first mission together is meeting with Roy Gilbert, a friend of their father and they hope he will endorse John.

The flashbacks in this episode all focus on Danny and Nolan bonding at Danny’s restaurant. They have small talk and share a beer. Danny teaches him how to chop tomatoes and tells him he is always looking for help. It seems that their relationship is really developing. I’m curious to see what happens next. The past is still very much alive in this show.

Marco brings in Eric to have another conversation. Eric claims to know nothing about the money or drugs Danny had in Miami. Marco wonders why Eric was the only one spared by Lowery. Marco even suggests to Eric that he killed Danny. Eric denies having any issues and I feel like Eric is trying to piece this all together in his head. We flashback to the morning before John and Danny’s infamous meeting where Eric and Danny were together. Danny said he was meeting with John then going to Miami to get Nolan.

Meg meets Eve for the first time. They have a drink together at the bar where Eve goes int detail about meeting Danny and basically getting around to asking Meg if the payments will resume. Eve claims to know more about the Rayburn family and Meg replies with that neither she or Nolan are in Robert’s will. Eve looks shocked.

Kevin wants to give Nolan a chance. Belle suggest that they invite him over for dinner. Kevin doesn’t seem thrilled about it but agrees. Nolan also resists but eventually agrees to come to dinner. We see Sally out on the dock behind the house looking out into the ocean. I fear something is wrong with Sally.

John is walking through the parking lot when he meets Ozzy for the first time. Ozzy is claiming to look for accommodations and John sends him in the right direction. I feel that Ozzy is just scouting him right now. John then has a conversation with Marco about why Eric was in the station. He knows Marco is going to keep pressing on Danny’s case and John says his family needs closure and they need to move. It seems the tension is rising between these two friends.

Sally is completely out of it when Meg is suggesting maybe they compromise with Eve so it doesn’t go to court. Sally wants Eve to take Nolan and leave. Sally continues to have complaints about the shower not working and the guests want to leave. Sally finally goes into the room and fixes it herself, then starts laughing and crying while sitting in the shower. Has Sally finally reached her breaking point?

Eric returns to his house only to find Chelsea there. She tells him he needs to find his own place. Kevin continues to battle his temptations and tries to sneak a shot of tequila but is caught up Nolan. The tension between Kevin and Nolan is very present at dinner when Nolan makes a comment about wanting a drink. Nolan tells Kevin he knows he reminds him of Danny and wants him to give him a break.

Meg meets with Gilbert and Gilbert says he will support them if they prove they are committed to winning. He wants them to fire back at the sheriff but Meg tells him that is not how John handles things. Meg’s night gets even more interesting when Marco stops by and tells her that he might bring her in for more questioning soon. Marco just won’t give up. Meg calls Gilbert back and they have a brief meeting where Gilbert gives her an envelope which I’m sure contains information about the Aguirre family. “We keep John out of this,” she says to him.

Jane and John are having lunch when John runs into Ozzy again who thanks him for his help. He won’t give John his name and continues to mess with him by saying he is staying in room 7 at the Red Reef Inn. This prompts John to immediately investigate the hotel and he finds out nobody has stayed in that room since the murder.

John goes into the room and immediately thinks back to the night he was going to let Danny be murdered. Ozzy and Eric are chatting and Ozzy thinks the Rayburns are all liars and that they need to keep pressing John. I have a feeling that the Eric/Ozzy combination is going to cause some serious trouble for the Rayburns.
