In what is no surprise, John is having trouble sleeping, wakes up shaking and immediately takes his medicine. John and his family are greeted by Eve, who assumes they are judging the decisions that she has made. Jane seems to be curious about her and Nolan. I’m with her. John is curious about her speaking with Meg/Sally and Eve mentions the money situation and why nobody wants to honor it. I know John has his suspicions about her.
Meg meets with Sheriff Aguirre’s ex-wife. She is using the information given to her by Gilbert to try and dig up some dirt on Aguirre. She refuses to talk about it. I know Meg, she won’t give up this easily. Meg goes to see Chelsea O’Bannon at the hospital and asks for files on Ms. Ortiz. Meg tells Chelsea she thinks the cops covered it. Chelsea doesn’t seem to willing to help.
Kevin and Nolan are doing their best to bond at the boatyard. Nolan acts so much like Danny. A presence of Danny anytime Nolan is there. Kevin finds out that his mortgage is 60 days overdue. This leads our man Kevin to take some secret drinks. Come on Kevin! Kevin is buying paint for his future nurses when he runs into his rehab buddy Doug, who gives him his number if he ever wants to talk. Thanks Doug.
Eric gets a visit from his least favorite Rayburn. John wants Eric to keep his ears open and wants to know who this mystery guy is. Eric plays dumb but agrees to potentially help John. Eric then meets with Ozzy telling him John is asking about it and why would that be. Ozzy replies by saying “I have been poking the bear.” Ozzy is quite the wildcard and makes Eric seem like a normal guy. Ozzy feels a major payday is coming soon.
Sheriff Aguirre meets with Marco and Marco tells him he is questioning Eric about what he knows involving Danny’s murder. Aguirre has issues with what happened at the Red Roof Inn. It is very obvious that these two have some history together. This means more secrets! A typical day in The Keys. Aguirre and Marco visit the Red Roof Inn Aguirre wonders why Danny would be waiting unarmed knowing somebody was coming to kill him. He suggests maybe someone else was there. He suggests John, but Marco quickly shuts that idea down. They agree that SOMEONE was there. (This is what Eric is terrified that they will find out).
Eve must be having a slow day as she stops by Jane’s school and plays on Jane’s curiosity. She takes Jane clothes shopping and they go out for coffee. Eve gives her a gift and then Jane finally asks what the deal is and why she never knew about her or Nolan. It seems the truth is going to come out.
Ozzy takes the next step to get to John … his wife. Diana comes back from a run and notices she has a flat tire. Ozzy just happens to be there to help. He starts talking about how “great” John is and talking about Danny’s murder and how stuff could come out during the election. Family dinner at John’s house results in Jane giving them attitude and Diana revealing to John about this “creepy guy.” John has the feeling like he knows and goes to her trunk and decides to get fingerprints from the tire iron.
Kevin is getting ready to assemble the nursery when Belle tells him they might want to hold off. She is having some tests and the baby might not be okay. Poor Kevin. This news can’t be good for him. Kevin finally meets with his mom after everything that has happened and Sally says she and his father will always love him. Kevin returns home and tells Belle about the boatyard and the story Sally told him. He will handle the situations. We get some good news for Kevin and Belle that the baby is okay and they are having a boy!
John gets the fingerprint results and finds out Ozzy’s name. John notices that both Danny and Ozzy were bailed out by the same woman …Beth Mackey. You can tell this upsets him and he grabs his medicine. John goes and confronts Eric and asks where Ozzy is. John finds him in the bathroom at a bar and wants to know his connection to Danny and what Danny told him. Ozzy dodges the question and John tells him to leave town today. I doubt Ozzy is leaving.
Meg hasn't told John about her secretly trying to expose Aguirre. Chelsea surprises us by giving Meg the records she requested about Ms. Ortiz. This is a favor from Chelsea since John was watching out for Eric. We find out that domestic issues did take place and when the allegations are made public, the Sheriff quickly denies them, claiming his wife had a drug problem and an accident. Gilbert visits Meg and gives her a large donation for spilling the beans about Aguirre. Meg questions what she has done, but Gilbert mentions some shady details about how Robert might have bought the inn. I’m sure Gilbert will have more details on this issue.
It is time for family dinner at the Rayburn Inn. Sally seems to not be up for it. Meg quietly informs John that they received Gilbert’s donation. John says they won’t exploit the Aguirre situation. Sally is shocked to see Nolan arrive with the family. Jane gives her some attitude while Kevin takes some secret drinks. Kevin is struggling with his addiction while Meg gets a call from Ms. Ortiz wanting to meet. We haven’t even started the meal yet.
The actual dinner begins with Kevin’s announcement that the next member of the Rayburn clan will be a boy. The mood quickly goes south when Jane lashes out at Sally about Nolan/Danny. The two end up having a heated conversation in the kitchen where Jane is berating Sally about the truth (that she heard from Eve). Sally silences Jane by slapping her in the face. John has a shocked look on his face.
Ms. Ortiz meets Meg in a church. She claims only half the story has been told and that the 911 call was never reported. She says Aguirre bribed the officer and hired him. We find out the officer’s name … Marco Diaz. It seems like everyone has some dark secrets.
Kevin is sitting in the baby’s future nursery when he has a breakdown and apologizes to Belle that he can’t be a father and will ruin this kid. Did he just leave her? He goes out on the boat and goes to Doug’s house, seeking someone to talk to.
Diane is FURIOUS about what happened at dinner. The tensions among the Rayburns are all at an all-time high. John sees a book of matches with Red Roof Inn on it. He quickly races to the Inn and finds Ozzy right outside near the infamous room. Ozzy says lets talk. John responds by punching Ozzy, then relentlessly hitting him over and over.
The problems only continue to escalate for the Rayburns …
