Finding Dory is the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Finding Nemo. It had a monster opening weekend by grossing $136.1 domestically, the largest opening weekend ever for an animated feature. It also recorded the largest single day and opening day for an animated film and out performed the original film's opening weekend of $70.2 million.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Kevin Hart’s buddy comedy Central Intelligence was the other new release of the weekend. It had a strong $34.5 opening and could be well on the way to $100 million domestically, reported Box Office Mojo.

The three new releases from last weekend all had significant drops during their second weekends. Third place went to The Conjuring 2 which brought in $15.5 million, raising its total domestic gross to $71.7 million. Now You See Me 2 grossed $9.7 million and Warcraft brought in $6.5 million.

X-Men: Apocalypse grossed $5.2 million, inching closer to $150 million domestically. Captain America: Civil War crossed $400 million domestically. The Jungle Book has been out for 66 days and has grossed $355.7 million domestically.
