Golden State Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was hit in the groin by Cleveland Cavaliers guard Matt Dellavedova during Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night.
The incident happened with just over 30 seconds left in the third quarter. Dellaveodova was trying to steal the ball from Iguodala and hit him in the groin during the scuffle, according to ESPN.
Of the incident Dellavedova said that he was swiping from behind and tried to grab Iguodala’s arm. He was given a common foul.
"I'm not going to judge or say anything negative about him," Iguodala said, "He's out there competing. There are a lot of emotions going on out there. I respect a lot of guys' hustle in this league. You've got guys who've got to get a little dirty, got to be a little physical, to make a life and to feed their family, so I can only respect that. For me, it's just keeping my composure and continue to try to do things for my team to help us win."
Iguodala had a good game with 12 points, seven rebounds and six assists. He is averaging seven points and four rebounds this season.
The Warriors won the game 104-89. Game 2 is Sunday night.
