Fran Drescher posted multiple condolence notes on Twitter after the passing of 87-year-old actress Ann Morgan Guilbert, who played Grandma Yetta on The Nanny.
In her first post, Drescher wrote, “I feel so sad about Annie. She was brilliant as (sic) my Grandma Yetta. Such a sweet woman too.”
She followed up that post with a thank you message to Guilbert for “all the laughs." She wrote, “May you be cracking them up in heaven.”
Drescher also retweeted a fanmade collage of Guilbert.
While best known her role on The Nanny, she also appeared in roles including The Dick Van Dyke Show and Picket Fences. She had a guest starring role on Grey’s Anatomy. She most recently made appearances in the new CBS comedy series Life In Pieces.
Guilbert leaves behind two daughters, Nora Eckstein and actress Hallie Todd and a granddaughter. Todd posted a message to her mom on Twitter finishing it with “Love you forever mom.”
