On Wednesday night, Jay Leno performed his first monologue on The Tonight Show since February 2014.

After host Jimmy Fallon pretended to hurt his leg during the opening monologue, he asked if anybody could come in and do it for him. Leno appears from behind the camera, high-fives the host and then performs a four-minute monologue by himself.

Leno begins by teasing the presidential candidates and then delves into jokes about President Obama's approval rating and the economy.

The former host sat down with Fallon, as a guest, later in the show and talked about dealing with shady members of the mafia. Leno spoke of one time when he and his wife were being driven to the city and the guy in the front seat handed him a gun.

Since leaving hosting duties on The Tonight Show, Leno has been touring performing stand-up. He told People in 2014 that he does 200 shows a year.
