Last week on Monica the Medium, Monica reached a personal goal by finishing the mud run. This week she aims to extend her professional reach when she drives to Palm Springs for a reading. Can she handle making it a mini-vacation with her friends as well?

Monica is at the farmers’ market with her roommates. They’re having a get together with friends that night and need to pick up fresh ingredients for food. Monica informs the girls that she’s going to Palm Springs for the weekend to do a group reading. Kayla immediately invites herself and the other roommates. Monica is afraid she’ll be tempted to party and miss the reading the next day. She tells them they can come if they can control the chaos. Has she made the right choice?

A client, Dan, comes from Los Angeles for a reading. When Monica begins reading, she’s getting the details all wrong. What’s happening? She realizes that she’s getting a spirit for Kayla and it’s interfering. She asks Kayla to leave the house until she’s done.

After Kayla leaves, Monica feels Dan’s wife come through. She gets her name and cause of death right away. She also knows that his wife left him a picture to find after she passed. Dan asks if his wife did what he whispered to her before she died. No one knows what it is except his wife. Monica is startled, but gets the answer right. Dan is convinced there’s life after death.

Monica is nervous about Tyler coming over. She’s a little overbearing in the kitchen when her roommates help her cook.

Kayla calls her dad who grills her about getting a job after she graduates. She’s afraid she’ll disappoint him. Monica tells her that someone’s been trying to come through from her because they sense she’s stressed.

Tyler and a friend show up and they all dig into the food. Kayla and the other girls conspire behind Monica’s back to invite the guys to Palm Springs. Monica is afraid it will be too crazy, but reluctantly agrees.

The morning that they leave, Monica feels a strong spirit around Kayla who finally gives in and lets Monica read her. Her grandmother comes through first. Monica tells Kayla that her grandmother is thankful that Kayla visited her in the hospital because it made transitioning easier. She knows that she died from a stroke. Her grandfather comes through next. Monica knows Kayla’s grandparents were divorced and knows that he refused to meet Kayla and her siblings. He was a racist, but he apologizes now. He’s had a long time on the other side to become a better soul. Kayla is impressed with everything Monica knew. Who wouldn’t be? It helps her really believe in Monica’s gift.

Monica and the girls pull up to their house in Palm Springs. The guys show up when they hop in the pool. Kayla wants to hit the bar that night to meet some more guys.

When they go out, Monica takes it easy so it won’t affect her ability to contact spirits the next morning. They call it a night fairly early. Looks like the trip will work out fine despite Monica’s worrying.

The next morning, Monica does a reading for a bereavement group. The first to come through is a teenage girl. Monica knows she was gay and that she studied abroad. She knows she died quickly from an infection. The girl hears her sister and mother talk to her before bed.

The next to step through is another woman’s husband. Monica knows they were in the military together. She knows he was killed by a distracted driver. He wants his wife to find forgiveness for the other driver. This brings his wife to tears, but she’s happy in knowing that he’s waiting for her.

Back at the house, everyone’s gathered around the pool. Kayla talks about how she told her father he’s stressing her out. She asked for a year off after college to explore her life before getting a job and he agreed.

They all gather their things to head back to San Diego.
