What was two now becomes....

Disney confirmed that they are only making one Avengers: Infinity War movie after originally announcing the film would be split in two parts.

Now, Avengers: Infinity War is set for release on the first part's May 4, 2018 original release, while an "Untitled Avengers" movie is set for release on the second part's May 3, 2019 release date.

The directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, said that the two Infinity War movies would not be called "Part One" and "Part Two" back in May in order to differentiate the two.

"The movies are two very different movies," Joe said to Uproxx. "The intention is we will change it, we just haven't come up with the titles yet."

The Russo brothers helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War. Civil War is still the highest-grossing movie of 2016 with over $1.15 billion in the bank. Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely, the writers of Winter Soldier and Civil War, will be writing the two upcoming Avengers movies.
