Uncle Buck has been canceled by ABC after one season.

The Mike Epps comedy was based on the John Hughes movie of the same name from 1989 starring John Candy.

Epps tweeted about the cancellation Wednesday night.

The show was hit with negative reviews, including a 32 percent on Rotten Tomatoes and a 37 on Metacritic, upon the it's premiere on June 14.

This isn't the first time an Uncle Buck show has done poorly. In 1990, CBS premiered an Uncle Buck TV show with comedian Kevin Meaney in the lead. The show was canceled during its first season with eight episodes left unaired.

The 2016 show did air all of its episodes and the series finale aired Tuesday night.

The show was created by MADtv writers Brian Bradley and Steven Cragg. Epps, best known for The Hangover, starred in the series with Nia Long (The Best Man), James Lesure (Las Vegas), Iman Benson, Sayeed Shahidi and Aalyrah Caldwell.
