Amy Schumer is pressing pause on humor and getting serious on a non-laughing matter, saying that when she lost her virginity it wasn't consensual.
The usually funny lady spoke with Marie Claire in her “most revealing interview ever” disclosing that she was 17 years old when the rape occurred.
“I didn’t think about it until I started reading my journal again,” Schumer states. “I wrote about it almost like a throwaway.”
She then divulged that her violator said “'I’m so sorry' and 'I can’t believe I did this.'”
The Inside Amy Schumer creator says that this was not the first time her personal boundaries were crossed.
“I had another time with a boyfriend where I was saying, 'No, stop,' and it was just completely ignored."
Schumer, 35, is currently dating Ben Hanisch and admits that relationships are not easy for her.
“I tell myself nothing is real and he’s going to leave me,” Schumer confesses. “How exhausting it must be to date me.”
Marie Claire’s August issue will hit newsstands on July 19.
