A celebrity feud has been averted after Debra Messing apologized to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani for her political tweet.
Messing, along with some other big Hollywood stars, have publicly come out in support of Hillary Clinton and as we know these celebs can be very passionate about their political views. So when Shelton did an interview with Billboard and talked about Donald Trump, it struck a chord with the former Will & Grace star who assumed the country singer was endorsing the Republican presidential nominee.
"I'm not going to have the political conversation with you about Trump, or about Hillary Clinton, but I will tell you this: Whether you love him or hate him, he says what he thinks, and he has proven that you don't always have to be so afraid," Shelton said. "A lot of people are pulling for him, no matter how much Hollywood fights it. I see people who don't like him go and beat up people that do like him. You tell me, who's crazy here?
"I probably wish there was another option, but there's not," he concluded.
Messing went straight to Shelton’s leading lady to urge her to try and coax her man not to give Trump his vote.
"Omg. How? @gwenstefani please talk to your man to not vote for the person who will STRIP you of your rights," the actress tweeted.
Gwen did not respond to her, but Shelton did.
“Hey before this gets going like it always does... I haven't enforced [sic] ANYBODY for president. And I not going to. I don't do that shit,” he wrote.
Messing later deleted her previous tweet to Stefani and issued an apology.
“Ok- I regret commenting. My passions got the better of me. Sorry. @gwenstefani @blakeshelton.”
Shelton then let her know it was all good by tweeting back, “Thank you sis.. I don't endorse anybody. For this very reason!!”
