Meryl Streep is in talks to join Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda in Disney's Mary Poppins sequel.

Streep would play Topsy, a cousin to Emily Blunt's Mary Poppins, and would sing in the film, according to Variety.

The 67-year-old Oscar winner has no announced films on her schedule at this time. She leads Florence Foster Jenkins set for release on Aug. 12 and lends her voice to The Guardian Brothers. Her slate is clean for the Christmas Day 2018 release of Mary Poppins Returns.

Rob Marshall (Chicago, Into the Woods) directs from a script by David Magee (Life of Pi, Finding Neverland). The team behind Hairspray, Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman, are composing the score and writing new songs for the film. Miranda plays a street lamplighter named Jack.

Streep would be reuniting with Marshall and Blunt after she played the Witch in Into the Woods, a role she received her 19th Oscar nomination and 29th Golden Globe nomination for. She is best known for her performances in films like Kramer vs. Kramer, Sophie's Choice, Mamma Mia!, The Devil Wears Prada, The Bridges of Madison County and The Deer Hunter. She recently appeared in the Carey Mulligan women's suffrage drama Suffragette and played a fictional rock star in last summer's Ricki and the Flash.
