The opening scene of Pretty Little Liars season 7, episode 4, starts with the first scene of the first episode as Emily, Aria and Spencer bury Elliot’s body. Hanna leaves the car to help the girls bury him but they all argue about telling the police or not. They feel forced to not go to the police. Alison, walks over to the bury site, reaches in and pulls Elliot’s badge off him.
The girls drive his car to make it seem like he left town. They begin to panic and feel like they will get caught. Emily says they must all remain calm for their plan to work.
Toby is at the police station when he gets a text from Yvonne, wondering if he is coming home. He says it will be a long night as he looks into Elliot’s real identity.
Hanna takes a shower and finds a piece of glass in her hair. Spencer cleans the floor to make sure all the tracks are being covered. When Spencer and Hanna are alone together, Caleb tries to come in but the chain is on the door.
Not knowing Hanna is also on the other side of the door, Caleb tries to fight for her. Spencer tells him to go away but he keeps telling her about his love for her. He begins to cry as the scenes show Hanna and Spencer crying too. After asking one last time if he can come in, she says she needs more time and he leaves.
Using Elliot’s badge, Alison and Aria sneak into the sanitarium so it can look like Alison never left. Aria walks away for a few seconds and returns to see Alison has left her side. Aria hides under a bed in the hall and sneaks her way through the sanitarium. She finds Alison by herself and Alison says she can’t go back into her room. Aria talks her into going back in and promises she will come back for her. Aria puts the restraints on so the doctors can see that he was a “monster” for keeping her tied up.
Aria confronts Alison about the night of Charlotte's death. A flashback shows Alison and Charlotte fighting in the bell tower but Charlotte yelled at her to leave her alone. She left the bell tower and was not the person who threw Charlotte off.
Spencer is at the Radley Hotel where Emily is working as they go over the plan. Spencer vents to Emily about her frustration toward Hanna and Caleb. Emily leaves and a man named Marco buys her a drink. After a few drinks, Spencer and Marco make out in the elevator but Spencer stops him and says she can’t do it. He understands and they get ready to leave the elevator.
After Emily finishes her part of the plan, Spencer calls her and says she can’t do her part of the Pretty Little Liar plan and that she can not even drive. Emily picks up Spencer who is really drunk and yells at her. Spencer says she felt safe before but now life has gotten worse and she apologizes.
Later, Aria and Hanna walk back into the woods to clean the car that Elliot died in. When they get there, they find the car is gone. After looking for the car, they see tire tracks. They realize someone knows what they did and took the car. In a shocking surprise, they see the car drive up to them with a new window. The two are surprised as they see Mona get out of the car.
Back at Hanna’s apartment, Mona tells the Pretty Little Liars she had been watching Elliot for a long time and said their plan was amateur.
The next day, Mona and the girls have breakfast at the Radley to not blow their cover. The girls begin to suspect Mary Drake as Elliot’s crime partner. Just then, Jenna walks in.
Jenna says she is in town to celebrate Toby’s engagement. She says she might visit Alison. After she walks away, Caleb calls Spencer but she doesn’t answer. Spencer walks away and Hanna confronts her. Spencer says she just needs to be mad at her for a little longer and that she needs to tell him the truth.
Later, Toby sees Jenna and asks why she is in Rosewood. She said she came to say hello and says Toby’s dad doesn’t know that she is there. Jenna said she wants to try and make amends again with Toby.
Mona tries to hack into the cell tower to Elliot’s phone but she can’t. Hanna opens up to Mona about the night of the accident and tells her about Jordan. Hanna then realizes she left her bracelet in Elliot’s car.
Aria and Emily go to visit Alison but the police are there. Toby tells Aria, Emily and Spencer that he found that Elliot was a fraud and stole someone’s identity. The police know that he is missing and they are on the hunt for him.
Meanwhile, Spencer goes to see Caleb but he left. Mona breaks into the car to get her necklace back. While in the car, the hear his phone ring. After answering the call, they learn Jenna is on the other line.
