Less than a year after revealing she was diagnosed with breast cancer, Shannen Doherty shared personal moment in her battle with her followers.
On her Instagram account, Doherty was seen in photos with her mother and a friend as she began the steps of shaving the hair off her head. In one powerful photo, she is seen in her mother’s arms.
Doherty simply captioned the first shot as “Step 1” before moving all the way to six.
Throughout the photos, comments poured in expressing support. One person told Doherty, “Hair or no hair, fighting cancer or fighting demons you are beautiful Ms. Shannon! Lots of love!!!”
The third image showed Doherty smiling as her mother and friend made kissy faces.
Actress Alyssa Milano, who played one of Doherty’s youngest sisters on Charmed, tweeted her support.
As previously reported, Doherty’s diagnosis was revealed after a lawsuit was filed. She blamed her management firm for allowing her health insurance to lapse, which prevented her from having medical coverage and getting a timely diagnosis.
She appeared on The Dr. Oz Show in February this year to discuss what options she was looking into to treat her disease.
