Third Eye Blind played a set at the Republican National Convention where they poked fun at conservative concertgoers.
The concert took place at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland as part of a charity event on July 19.
Cleveland.com noted the band was originally expected to have a setlist featuring pro-America songs.
Twitter user Mark Negrin posted a setlist for the band and said frontman Stephen Jenkins, “condemned the GOP and yelled, ‘raise your hand if you believe in science!’”
He was reportedly met with boos from the audience and responded, “You can boo all you want, but I’m the motherf***ing artist up here.”
Jenkins then talked about causes that leaned toward the democratic side, including a message behind the song “Jumper.” Entertainment Weekly noted he said that in order for people to really enjoy the song, they must “take into your heart the message and to actually have the feeling to arrive and move forward.”
The song was written for a friend of his who was gay and later jumped off a bridge.
The band responded to a reporter who asked if they were worried that their performance hurt the charity they were performing for.
