NFL Hall of Famer Warren Sapp was a menacing force on the football field, but in the ocean a shark showed him who’s boss.
As the Tampa Bay Times noted, Sapp was on a fishing expedition in the Florida Keys Wednesday, July 27, when he was bitten in the forearm.
"It's simple," charter captain Jack Carlson said. "He was lobstering with me and a shark bit Sapp while he was grabbing the lobster. He's OK."
Carlson’s charter, Two Conchs, posted a photo of the bite mark via Instagram.
Witnesses say it was actually a nurse shark that decided to take a bite of Sapp’s arm.
As nasty and deep as the wound looked the former athlete just kept fishing after the incident because, well, they had to get dinner.
On Thursday, Sapp shared that he had a little nurse looking over him following the ordeal.
