Washington Redskins linebacker Junior Galette will miss the 2016 season due to an Achilles heel injury, it was announced on Monday.
According to NFL.com, Galette tore his right Achilles tendon while working out and will be out for the upcoming season. This will be the second straight year that Galette won’t play. He missed the 2015 season due to the same injury. Galette tweeted a video of himself working out on Monday along with a message about his bad luck.
“Haven't felt so good best shape of my life and this happens to me now Idk what else to so when does da rain stop,” he tweeted.
Galette joined the New Orleans Saints as an undrafted free agent in 2010. He became a starter in 2013 and had 22 sacks in two seasons with the Saints, according to Fox Sports. Before the 2015 season he signed with Washington but wasn’t able to play due to injury. He re-signed with Washington in March for one year in a deal that could be worth up to $4.1 million.
Washington has waived safety Kyshoen Jarrett who failed his physical.
