Brie Larson, the soon-to-be Captain Marvel, posted a photo on Twitter of her hardcore workout as she prepares for the role.
Larson received a standing ovation when it was announced at Comic-Con last month that she will play Captain Marvel. She will be the first female Marvel superhero to get her own movie.
Captain Marvel is Carol Danvers, once a member of the United States Air Force now a superhero after her human genes mix with alien genes. She can fly, has super strength, and can shoot beams of energy out of her hands.
Captain Marvel is set for release on March 8, 2019. Inside Out scribe Meg LeFauve and Guardians of the Galaxy writer Nicole Perlman have put together the script.
Larson has appeared in Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, 21 Jump Street, and Trainwreck. She has earned acclaim for her roles in films like Short Term 12 and Room, the latter of which she won the Best Actress Oscar for.
She stars in Kong: Skull Island set for release on March 10.
