Eddie Murphy had no interest in trying cocaine, even if the idea was being proposed by Robin Williams and John Belushi.
Murphy claimed on The Hollywood Reporter's Awards Chatter podcast that he declined an opportunity to engage in the highly-addictive substance alongside his famous peers, the late Williams and Belushi.
The Mr. Church actor also revealed that his refusal of the white powder led to him being scoffed at by his former colleague.
"Belushi and Robin Williams offered me some blow and I didn't take it," Murphy discloses. "And Belushi called me a 'tight ass.'"
Belushi, who used to hang out with Murphy and Williams, had a reputation of his partying ways, which ultimately led to the SNL actor's overdose in 1982.
Williams' struggled with addiction also, as the troubled actor checked into rehab before he committed suicide in 2014.
The unfortunate passing of the 55-year-old actor's friends seemingly has shaped his decision to stay sober.
“There are a bunch of things like that that I look back on and be like, ‘Wow.’ I know that God is real." Murphy said. "There’s been a bunch of times when I could have wound up crashing and burning.”
He continued, "I said ‘Wow, that’s a trip,’ The Eddie Murphy story would have been totally different.”
