The J.K. Rowling scripted sequel to Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them received an official release date from Warner Bros. today.

Warner Bros. has revealed that Nov. 16, 2018 is the date for the Harry Potter spinoff sequel. The director of the last four Harry Potter films as well as Fantastic Beasts, David Yates, returns to direct the next installment. Meanwhile, Rowling has already completed the sequel's script.

Fantastic Beasts is a spinoff of the main Harry Potter series set for Nov. 18. It revolves around magical zoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) as he tracks down dangerous magical creatures that escaped in New York City. Katherine Waterson and Colin Farrell also star in the film.

The Harry Potter series is the second highest-grossing film franchise behind Marvel. The eight films pulled in over $7.7 billion at the box office.
